Our European project on female athlete empowerment, HerForm, presented its research findings at the FEPSAC Congress 2024.

FEPSAC, the European Federation of Sport Psychology, aims to promote scientific, educational, and professional work in sport psychology, disseminate information, and foster international cooperation. One of FEPSAC’s main activities is organizing the European Congress of Sport & Exercise Psychology.

This year’s congress, held in Innsbruck, Austria, gathered professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts passionate about the intersection of sports and psychology. Topics explored included mental toughness, motivation, performance anxiety, team dynamics, the psychological aspects of coaching and sports management, and physical and mental health.

Novel data

HerForm, an EU-funded project uniting Rugby Players IrelandAsociacion de Jugadores de Futbol SalaNYSA SwedenSouth African Cricketers AssociationDeutsche Sporthochschule Köln, and TWIN took the FEPSAC stage to present our recently published research. Its innovative results highlight the necessity for career support programmes tailored to the distinct stages of female athletes’ careers.

Consequently, our data will lay the scientific foundation for designing the digital HerForm training hub. Additionally, the platform’s resources will be integrated with on-site workshops conducted by service providers in high-performance female sports environments in Europe and Africa.
